Continuing the paragliding, skydiving, and being recently unemployed trend of worrying my parents and friends, I bought a motorcycle.
This has been a long, slow-burning interest, but the state of New Hampshire safety courses have always been booked out at least three months. Since I don’t know what I’ll be doing in a month especially while job-hunting, it’s hard to schedule a random weekend four months from now.
What changed is this time I started looking and found one that weekend, signed up, bought a helmet (Shoei - pricey but the only one rated for both Snell and ECE that fit my head), and made the trip down-cape to visit family and attend the class.
What started me looking again is that my good friend has a 125cc ATV from the 80s that we’ve been riding around his property and I realized I need more motorsports in my life.
Less than a week from “Go!” to having a motorcycle endorsement on my license. I’m a fan. Training Wheels in MA was great, top-notch instruction.
Then I refreshed craigslist with their extremely anti-scraping website every fifteen minutes for a few ~days~ weeks and found an incredible deal.
Of course, the real risk is that you suddenly find too many deals and I simply can’t afford to save that much money.
And now I’m learning about carburetors and watching DanDanTheFireman on youtube.
